REZBUILD project will take part in the EU Sustainable Energy Week

The European project is going to participate in the Policy Conference of the event, the most important European forum on renewable energy

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2019), the biggest European forum dedicated to renewable and efficient energy, will be hold in Brussels next June. The REZBUILD project, a Horizon 2020 initiative, will be a special guest of the event by taking part in the roundtable European Policy Framework on Energy Renovation of Buildings, organised during the Policy Conference of the event, on the 18th of June at 16:00h.

Besides REZBUILD project, represented by Susana Garayoa, this roundtable will gather delegates from different H2020 projects such us Michelle Vavallo from RenoZEB, Claudio Del Pero from HEART, Per Kvols Heiselberg from RECO2ST, Miguel Ángel Paris from BRESAER, Roberto Fedrizzi from  BuildHEAT and Oana Schippers, from P2ENDURE. This meeting will be a great opportunity to boost networking and promote synergies between different European projects, following the European Commission (EC) guidelines. Some of the REZBUILD project partners will be also present at EUSEW.

After the roundtable a panel of discussion between stakeholders and project representatives will take place. The EU Affairs Director and International Union of Property Owners, Emmanuelle Causse, the Project Officer for the Architects Council of Europe, Veronika Schröpfer, and Paula Rey Garcia, from DG ENERGY will be present.

For the REZBUILD consortium, the EU Sustainable Energy Week will be as well the perfect spot to meet new stakeholders, learn about successful policies and exchange knowledge and inspiring points of view in order to meet the EU’s energy and climate goals.

It will also contribute to approach other projects of the same call, European associations and the Commission itself to keep working on promoting the use of innovative and efficient technologies and practices.

The EUSEW 2019 motto is Shaping Europe’s Energy Future and therefore the European directives on Energy performance of buildings and Energy efficiency will be a relevant topic during the event.

The sessions included on the Policy Conference, the main activity of the EUSEW, are launched by the EC and energy stakeholders and will focus on sustainable energy issues, debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas.

One of the important conferences that will take place will be “Policy meets property: a combined perspective on energy efficiency in buildings”. With the participation of European Commissioners Miguel Arias Cañete and Günther Oettinger, this session will be a unique opportunity to bring together high-level decision makers from the building sector and policy makers to discuss one of the key challenges of the European energy trajectory: the steady, cost-effective improvement of energy performance of buildings in the next three decades, in view of the decarbonisation of building stocks.

A great number of public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, civil society organisations and media representatives are expected at the event, that will gather a wide range of speakers and participants from city councils, European institutions, private companies, research organisations, citizen groups and NGOs.

Apart from the interesting sessions and conferences, the EUSEW will hold side events such us the Networking Village, a key feature of this forum and the homeland for exchange of ideas.

So if you want to stay tuned to the newest achievements in efficient and renewable energies, don’t miss the date!
